CAMDEN MARKET’S FIRST ICE RINK & SANTA’S GROTTO GLIDE INTO CAPITAL

This Christmas, as Camden Market celebrates its 45th anniversary, expect a magical makeover that sees the market’s North Yard transformed into an illuminated North Pole. Built across the cobbles and decked in fairy lights to sparkle whilst you skate, it's an opportunity to glide on North London’s longest outdoor ice rink, against the historical backdrop of London's most iconic markets.

Adding to the Market’s festive takeover, from 23rd November, its Santa in the Stables Grotto opens. Nestled across the cobbles in the hidden Stables workshop, the grotto has been masterminded by Ministry of Fun, renowned for producing some of London’s most captivating Christmas experiences, “Santa in the Stables” has been inspired by the Market’s heritage as former stables and horse hospital buildings, and will see little ones enjoy an elf led craft workshop, followed by a very special appointment with Father Christmas and a front row seat at his magical mini show.

Fuelling the festivities, yuletide specials will be served across the North Yard’s restaurants, cafes and delis. Check out the ‘Triple Ho’ vegan Christmas Burger from Rudy’s Dirty Vegan Diner or The Cheese Bar’s Festive Fondue Menu before indulging in a boozy hot chocolate from The Camden Grocer or instagrammable sweet treats from new dessert parlour wonderland, Hans & Gretel. Child friendly ‘Christmas Mini Menus’ will be available across all. A valid ticket for either the Grotto or Ice Rink will also unlock Christmas discounts with traders across the North Yard.

ABOUT CAMDEN MARKET

Camden Market is a diverse community of creative sellers, street food traders and independent stores next to the Regent’s Canal. Open every day, it has over 1,000 places to shop, eat, drink and dance in the historic central London location. Camden Market continues to grow as a cultural hub for music, art, fashion and food, which reflects on the community roots that helped to form the Market at its inception.

ABOUT NORTH YARD

World famous Camden Market is celebrating its 45th anniversary with the revitalisation of its North Yard. Beautifully restoring the space and its surrounding former horse hospital buildings, the North Yard is to become the 'Camden Market' for the local Londoner. Shop for fine food produce and Great Taste Awards exclusives, see food and drink artisans at work - from handmade fudge to butchery and cocktail masterclasses - or enjoy restaurant style dining from some of London’s finest street food pop ups turned bricks and mortar sites.

The ongoing curation champions the market's ethos for nurturing entrepreneurial talent and supporting businesses, both home-grown and market born. Recent new openings include The Camden Grocer (fine foods grocer and deli), Indian inspired burger restaurant, Baba G’s, Rudy’s Dirty Vegan Diner, (London’s first 100% vegan diner and vegan shake bar) Kuku Riku (josper charcoal rotisserie chicken restaurant) and Camden Town Roadkill (independent butcher and grill) They join already established London favourites, The Cheese Bar and Pamban (chai house and eatery specialising in Sri Lankan/Indian eats) with further new arrivals scheduled for later in 2019.
