Review: BarreCore
A new blog series, specifically for Fitness Class reviews, by Koreen Strauss. We thought it’d be a good idea for someone to visit the local classes in the area and share with you, so you can hear from the same voice. And plus, Diana isn’t going to all those fitness classes for you ;)
Situated directly across from The Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, Barrecore is a blissful respite from the noise and traffic of the street. The moment I walked in I was greeted with a cheerful shouted greeting. After filing out the brief release for I was given a quick tour of the studio. The upstairs is a tiny boutique selling all sorts of workout apparel and workout accompaniments. Downstairs are the studio itself, lockers and a small changing space. I especially liked that there are showers equipped with Cowshed products so you don’t have to lug a bunch of toiletries from home if you are rushing off somewhere after class.
I was a bit nervous entering the class, but those nerves quickly dissolved as Isobel, my instructor for the BarreFORM class I was about to take came over to explain the next hour, what I would need and where to stand. Super helpful!
The class flew by in a mix of bum burning ballet inspired moves that worked into my glutes, core, and arms. My triceps quivered, my legs shook, and the burn was surprising. I loved it.
I can see how Barrecore is able to scupt the body so quickly. The next morning I was sore in places I must miss at my normal gym and yoga sessions.
Barrecore has numerous studios dotted around London and at only £28 for a single class or packages that make it as cheap as £8 a day, it’s a wonderful option for your Hampstead mummy workout. I highly suggest you try it out for yourself.
